Nasza historia

The Department of Electronics AGH exists since November 1st 1973, first as the Institute of Electronics at the Faculty of Mining Electrotechnology, Automatics and Electronics. In 1975 the Faculty was renamed to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics and Electronics, and in 1998 to the Faculty of Electrical Engineering, Automatics, Computer Science and Electronics. During the restructuration of the whole University in 1993 the Institute was converter to the Department of Electronics.

Since 2012 the Department of Electronics together with Department of Computer Science and Department of Telecommunications formed a new Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications.

AGH University of Science and Technology established in 1919 is one of the top Polish technical universities conducting education and scientific research activities in the field of new technologies.

The AGH groups 16 faculties employing close to 2000 academics and educating approx. 30 thousand students at the bachelor, master, doctoral and postgraduate levels. The Department of Electronics is one of three Departments forming the Faculty of Computer Science, Electronics and Telecommunications.

Scientific research

Modern technologies and international collaboration

Our scientific research covers a broad range of electronics, starting from the fundamental physics and new technologies in micro- and nano- scales, through the theory, design and verification of circuits, devices and electronic systems up to advanced algorithms for analog and digital signal processing, including their hardware implementation. Our staff take part in the development of new technologies through domestic and international research programs. We actively collaborate with local and global companies and organizations in order to develop and deploy new solutions.

Zatrudniamy obecnie 93 pracowników,  w tym 8 profesorów tytularnych, 6 doktorów habilitowanych na stanowiskach profesorów nadzwyczajnych, 8 doktorów habilitowanych na stanowiskach adiunktów, (łącznie 22 profesorów i doktorów habilitowanych), 34 doktorów na stanowiskach adiunktów, 1 doktora na stanowisku starszego wykładowcy, 2 doktorów na stanowiskach asystentów, 14 magistrów na stanowiskach asystentów, 1 magistra na stanowisku starszego wykładowcy, 9 pracowników inżynieryjno-technicznych i 10 pracowników administracyjnych.
